Office Workstations Risk Assessments and Reviews
With advancing technology and increased automation, individuals are spending more time at their computer work station. The corresponding increase in prolonged sitting and static work subjects the body to additional strain and as a consequence health and safety issues become a real concern.
The Great Health Company offers a fully comprehensive on-site work station risk assessment service. The service is designed to facilitate easy referral and fast turn around of reports and is quality assured. Assessments are performed by physiotherapists with post graduate experience and qualifications in occupational health & ergonomics.
Simple Office workstation Assessments
Our most commonly conducted assessment taking 45-60 minutes and includes:
- Job/Task analysis
- Subjective complaints noted
- H.S.E compliance check and identification of urgent non H.S.E. compliance issues
- Anthropometric measures

- Risk assessment
A detailed report is provided which includes:
- Details of the issues found. Colour photographs are included where relevant
- Information given and changes made during the assessment
- Recommendations
Complex Office Workstation Assessments
These assessments require approximately 1.5 hours on site.
- They are similar to our simple assessments but there is usually a more complex nature and history to the problem experienced.
- They are usually required when long term disability or prolonged or repeated sickness absence has been an issue +/- the person works at a number of different stations.
- A comprehensive report is prepared in a similar fashion to the simple workstation assessments.

Clinical Office Workstation Assessment
Useful for clients with complex physical issues or disability such as repetitive upper limb disorders & low back pain, particularly if a recommendation for return to work or clinical management is required. These assessments require approx 2 hours on site.
- Includes clinical assessment for clients. Client is given information & advice.
- Followed by in depth workstation assessment in light of physical findings.
- Full informed consent obtained prior to assessment if full report provided to the employer.
- Again a comprehensive report is prepared.
